Trying to decide which to buy fireplace screen can seem overwhelming. There are many shapes, colors, styles and sizes available. Here's some help in selecting what is right for you.
Shape
Let's start with the form. This will be the easiest decision to make. Is your fireplace opening arched or normal? If your fireplace opening is arched, you will select a curved screen, with a continuous arc. If it is normal, any of the others will work as it fits. We'll get to design later.
Color
We now move on to color. You'll want your screen to coordinate with the dominant colors in your room.
If the dominant colors are warm, like red, yellow, orange, or a combination of any of these, your screen should be black, gold, rust, copper, bronze, brass, or any of the brown tones.
If the dominant colors are cool, like green, blue, green, blue, blue-violet, or purple, your screen should be black, white, stainless steel, tin, or any of the color silver.
You may have noticed a black screen that works with any color scheme.
Theme
The next question would be, look what I'm trying to achieve? One would be traditional. A traditional look is a "look" clean ", which is simple and classic design. This look works well with any subject. These screens would include those who have straight lines and are not real" fantasy "in their design.
Another look would be an old or a Victorian theme. This is usually rich in tapestry and very elegant. This requires a screen with rounded corners and roll fantasy.
Fireplace Screens to consider
You may want to consider a screen with the doors. These are very useful to avoid having to move the fireplace screen to tend the fire. You may also want a glass fireplace screen is absolutely beautiful at night with the brilliant fire behind it.
Fireplace Screen Sizing
The most important thing to consider is the size of the screen fireplace. You could find a fabric you absolutely love, but if it does not fit it simply will not work. The dimensioning rules are as follows:
Fireplace screens single panel should be 1-3 inches larger than the fireplace opening on all sides, including higher education.
Folding panel screens should be at least 10-12 cm higher than the opening of the fire box to allow the curve that gives stability to the screen. The screen should be 1-3 inches taller than the opening of the fire box.
These guidelines are the minimum size. If the fireplace screen is larger than this, okay. While it does not seem out of proportion.
Whatever fireplace screen you select, make sure it is one that fits and one that you like. Every time you look at your new screen you should say, "I'm glad I got that one."
